One valuable takeaway from this project is that I do not want student loans. I want to try my best to get scholarships and grants and loans. Even though I will still have to have them there are a bunch of ways to avoid them that I will explore. I found this overall project to be helpful to put things in perspective. Though I don’t think I will pursue this career, it makes me question whether I will choose a job for passion or money. If I did this again I would like to learn about groceries since it is a part of my budget but it was not mentioned in the the project. It also seems like a potentially big part of the budget. I was most surprised by electric, water, and other utilities being so cheap compared to Hawaii.Right now I do not pay for any bills other than my own gas. My starting salary was more than enough to cover all expenses and savings. It makes me believe I won’t be starting with such a high salary. I used Financial, Economic, and Business Literacy by laying out how money works and it helped to talk to my peers about their experiences about their budgets. It also puts in perspective how my parents live and how my family spends money.
